Every Fayetteville State University (FSU) student borrower at Chesnutt Library, students attending the Fort Bragg campus,
and students attending the Cross Creek Early College High School must have a
current picture identification card, which is called the
University ID Card, FSU Bronco
Express Card or the One Card. This serves as your
library card to check out materials, and can also be used as a copy
card for the photocopiers in the Library. According to University
Policy, the University ID Card, which serves as a student's identification
card, is to be carried with
a student at all times, while on campus, and is to be produced at
the request of a staff person. Laptops are available for
checkout at the Circulation Desk for use strictly within the
Library, in three hour time increments. See detailed
Laptop Policy.
Students can obtain an University ID Card from the One Card
Office located in the Jones Student Center. Faculty and Staff can
obtain an University ID Card from the University
Photographer's Office located in the Jones Student Center.
Students may also use their University ID Card or Driver's
License, with proof of
current enrollment, to check out
materials from the constituent institutions of The University of North
Carolina System. This requires that a student be able to use
their Library PIN number to bring up their
Library
Record to verify they are currently enrolled and have a library
record in good standing..
Faculty/Staff
Faculty and staff should secure a University ID Card as a picture
identification
card, which
will be used as their library card.

Loan Procedures
Once a user has located the material desired, it should be taken
to the Circulation Desk. Upon presentation of a valid FSU University
ID Card, Friends of the Library Card, Community Borrower's Card, or
valid Driver's License, the borrower will have the material checked-out through the
automated circulation system.
Holds
As a member of the UNC Coastal Carolina Library Consortium, FSU
students, faculty and staff, may place holds on UNC-Pembroke or UNC-Wilmington
circulating materials. These materials usually take from five
to seven days to arrive at FSU. They can then be checked out
at the Circulation Desk with the FSU University ID Card.
Items will be held at
the Circulation Desk for five days. If not picked up by then,
they will be returned to the institution (UNC-P, UNC-W) that lent
them. Holds placed on FSU materials by our
institution's users will be pulled and held for five days at the
Circulation Desk. If they are not picked up, they will be
returned to the FSU collection.
