In order to access Chemical Abstracts through SciFinder Scholar, you will need to download the SciFinder Scholar software and the configuration file.  This product is currently only available from on Campus.

Download Instructions

1.  Click on sfs2006.exe and select "Save."

2.  Save the file in a easily remembered folder location.

3.  Once the file is downloaded, locate the sfs2004.exe and double left click on the file.

4.  Instillation will begin.

5.  Select "Next" using the default settings until you come to a screen that asks "Do you have a disk labeled Custom Site Files?"  Click no.

6.  Select the default folder location and click "Next" and then "Finish."

7.  After you have installed SciFinder, right click on the following file (site.prf)and select "Save."  Browse to the C:\SFSCHLR\ folder and select "Save."  Without this file, you will not be able to access SciFinder or Chemical abstracts.
