LibraryBibliographic Instruction

Proud to be
Instruction on Using Library Resources

The purpose is to help students learn how to more efficiently and effectively identify and use library resources for studying, conducting research, writing papers and completing assignments.

A Service

Bibliographic Instruction is a service provided by University Librarians at the request of a professor. Its purpose is to help students learn how to more efficiently and effectively identify and use library resources for studying, conducting research, writing papers and completing assignments.  One-on-one instruction can also be provided on an appointmemt basis. Tours of the library can also be arranged.

Works Best

Bibliographic Instruction works best when it is presented in conjunction with a professor's specific assignment so that the librarian conducting the instruction can focus on the specific requirements of the assignment and what is needed for successful completion.  The identification and location of relevant materials and information, such as journal articles, books, streaming videos, web sites, electronic resources, statistics, arguments, data, maps or other informational materials and sources that are used in the research and writing process are key in contributing to the successful completion of assignments.
