Textbooks are not kept on Reserve unless the faculty member provides a copy.

Reserve materials are those items placed on reserve by faculty members. Materials can be placed on reserve in print or in an electronic format. To access reserve materials, go to Chesnutt Library 's Online Public Access Catalog or the automated catalog and search by instructor or course prefix and number for access to the Reserves listed in print and in an electronic format.

Reserve materials are kept at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of Chesnutt Library. They are arranged in alphabetical order by the instructor's last name. Photocopies of materials are placed in folders and kept in pamphlet boxes arranged by the faculty member's last name. Print reserve materials can be checked out for two (2) hours to be used "in-house only", and should be returned to the Circulation Desk. Please be considerate of others and try not to return materials late.

All members of the faculty have the privilege of placing materials on materials reserve. There is no limit on the number of items which may be placed on reserve. The faculty member is asked to bring the materials to be placed on reserve to the Circulation Desk. Circulation staff members will then prepare folders and "Reserve" cards for each item, and place them on "Reserve" shelves located behind the circulation desk. Faculty members may place personal copies of materials on reserve. The library assumes no responsibility for security of these items, but will make every effort to keep the "Reserve Collection" intact.

Faculty members who want to put material on electronic reserves should contact the circulation desk at 672-1231. Please bring materials in prior to the start of the semester, so they may be processed and made available in a timely fashion.

NOTE: Legitimately purchased copies of video recordings, DVDs, CDs, and cassette tapes may be placed on reserve in the Media Center. Home made copies of television shows, movies, news, etc. on video recordings, DVDs, CDs and cassettes CAN NOT be placed on Reserve in the Media Center to be shown, because it will violate copyright compliance regarding Public Performance Rights. See the Copyright Page for more detail and related websites.
