Facility Reservations and Equipment Availability

Reserve materials are those items placed on reserve by faculty members. Materials can be placed on reserve in the Media Center to be viewed individually, in small groups or small class sizes. No more than ten to fifteen individuals at one time for the Listening Room within the Media Center, and no more than twenty for the Seminar Room, room 218. The Seminar Room should be requested in advance for only viewing audiovisuals or for use as a conference or workshop meeting room. The Listening Room and the Seminar Room are not intended to be used as a regular classroom or a regular class meeting space. Materials such as video recordings, DVDs, CDs, and cassettes can not be checked out when they are on Reserve, unless the instructor determines otherwise.

Reserve materials will be held in the Media Center for the time specified on the Media Reserve form or thirty days after the end of the semester.

NOTE: Legitimately purchased copies of video recordings, DVDs, CDs, and cassette tapes may be placed on reserve in the Media Center. Home made copies of television shows, movies, news, etc. on video recordings, DVDs, CDs and cassettes CAN NOT be placed on Reserve in the Media Center to be shown, because it will violate copyright compliance regarding Public Performance Rights. See the Copyright Page for more detail and related websites.

The Media Center Listening Room is available on a walk-in basis and subject to availability. The Board of Trustees Room is requested through the Chancellor's Office. The Seminar Room's availability should be checked by calling the Director of Library Services' secretary at ext. 1751. Instructions will then be given for how to schedule the room.
