Access to online resources

  • FSU students, faculty and staff and students enrolled in the University's Distance Education programs may access electronic resources off campus.

  • In order to access  resources from off-campus, patrons must identify themselves as FSU affiliates by entering their name, University ID number (Social Security Number or Banner ID Number- try SSN first) and create a library PIN.

  • A PIN (or Personal Identification Number) is your secret code which is known only to you and which guarantees the privacy of your library record.  When selecting your PIN, you may use letters, numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers. Sometimes simple repetitions may not be accepted by the system (1111, 1212, aaaa, abab, etc.).  Create a PIN now

  • America Online (AOL) Users use AOL to get Internet access, then minimize the AOL browser and open Internet Explorer or Netscape from your desktop. NOTE: AOL version 7.0 will not work with our proxy.

NOTE:  If you have previously set a proxy on your computer you may remove the proxy settings. In IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, Connections and highlight the appropriate dialup connection. Click Settings and make sure both "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration scripts" are unchecked. In Netscape, go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced, Proxies and uncheck "Automatic proxy configuration."
