What is Off Campus Access?

Off Campus Access is available for most of the Library's online resources.  FSU students, faculty and staff and students enrolled in the University's Distance Education programs may access electronic resources from computers located off campus.

Who has Off Campus Access?

FSU students, faculty and staff and students enrolled in the University's Distance Education programs may access electronic resources off campus.

What can I do with Off Campus Access?

All the same activities you can do when on a computer in the library (well almost!). There are a very few databases that are restricted to users in the Library.

NetLibrary can be used Off Campus after you set up a free account using a computer in the Chesnutt Library.

NetLibrary provides access to full text electronic books purchased by the Library.  To access NetLibrary eBooks, you must first create an account using a computer in the Chesnutt Library. When you visit the NetLibrary home page you will see the name of your library in the navigation bar on the top of the screen. You will also find a "Create an Account" link in the Current Members box on the right side of your screen. Select this link to create a user name and password you can use to check out the library's eBooks either from within the library or remotely using any computer with Internet access.

How do I get Off Campus Access?

In order to access  resources from off-campus, patrons must identify themselves as FSU affiliates by entering their name, University ID number (Social Security Number) and library PIN.

What is my PIN?

A PIN (or Personal Identification Number) is your secret code which is known only to you and which guarantees the privacy of your library record.  When selecting your PIN, you may use letters, numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers. Create a PIN now

YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS YOUR PIN! If you forget your PIN then you can contact the Circulation Desk and ask a Librarian to delete your PIN.  Once the old PIN is deleted you can create a new one.

What if have a question or need help?

If you have a question contact the Librarians at the  Reference Department, 910-672-1233.
