Company/Industry Data

Appliance.com-The homepage of the U.S. Appliance Industry, which is divided into consumer and manufacturers sections, links to industry updates, statistics and publications.
Industry Link-This is a directory of over 22 industrial areas with links to company home pages within the specific industry categories. They include among others: automotive, electronics, industrial marketing, and oil and gas.
National Restaurant Association-The home page of the NRA provides reports on trends, forecasts, consumer studies, operating ratios and related topics in the restaurant industry.
U.S. Census Bureau/Manufacturing-This site includes Current Industrial Reports, Annual Survey of Manufacturers and the Census of Manufacturers with production output of industries in the U.S.

Demographic Information

American Fact Finder-This government site allows the 2000 census data of socioeconomic and demographic variables to be searched by geographic location, zip code, national and state totals, and metropolitan statistical areas
Bureau of Labor Statistics-The BLS web site provides data on the economy, employment and unemployment, and prices and living conditions on both regional and national scales.
Cyber Atlas-Available here is helpful statistical and demographic information for those interested in doing business on the Internet.

Easidemographics-This site provides a wide range of easy to configure demographic reports. Approximately 1,000,000 pages of documentation based upon the 1990 census, and updated to 1998, can be accessed.

State Data Center-The North Carolina State Data Center (SDC) is a consortium of state and local agencies that provides information and data about the State and its component geographic areas. The site includes population, economic, and income data as well as county profiles and rankings. Recently a public health section was added which includes a link to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics. There is also a link to the North Carolina Statistical Register.

State and County Quick Facts-Easy to use website from the US Census Bureau. Provides comparative data for each state and county for 33 categories divided into three groups: Population, Business & Geography.

State Demographics-The State Demographics unit provides state, county, and municipal population estimates and projections by year, age, race, and sex. The annual estimates of the population of North Carolina counties and municipalities are used in the distribution of state shared revenues to local governments. County and state population projections, available by age, race (white/other) and sex, are used for long range planning.
Regional Account Data-Provided by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Department of Commerce.  Personal income and population summary estimates; detailed county annual tables of income and employment, and wage and salary summary estimates.  For North Carolina-specific information, select "North Carolina" from the list of states.  County-level information will be displayed once you select the state.

AMA Web page-The homepage of the American Marketing Association that contains links to membership information, classified ads, and marketing research resources.
I Marketing-Provides free market profiles by size of business, number of employees and geography for understanding and sizing a potential market. Online registration required.

Media Central-This commercial site provides news, information, and useful links for the media and marketing professional or student

MouseTracks-MouseTracks presents and offers commentary on some of the marketing activities and resources on the Internet. Content changes frequently but irregularly.
ValuationResources.Com A valuable free resource for business appraisers, business owners, and other parties interested in business valuation and related topics. Subjects covered include business valuation publications, industry overview, issues, and trends, industry outlook and forecasts, financial benchmarking, compensation surveys, economic data and forecasts, public market data, transaction data, valuation discounts and premiums, legal and tax resources, business publications and resource directories, company profiles and credit reports, international trade and country reports, business start-up guides, private company data, company directories, trade association directories, appraisal associations, appraiser directories, valuation newsletters, valuation articles, and valuation forums.
